What is data-driven marketing?
Data-driven marketing, or in Dutch “data-driven marketing,” involves looking at data within marketing.
Where normal marketing is more focused on such things as previous experience, buyer behavior or sentiment, data-driven marketing looks only at data.
With these analyses, information is obtained from the accumulated data with Google Analytics, for example. With this information, you can better set up campaigns by adding or excluding target audiences. For example, how old they are, what devices they use, how many/what pages they visit and how long they stay on the website. Just don’t want a certain target audience to find your business? Then exclude them.
So what data-driven marketing does is that you base marketing activities on the facts you get from your data.
Basically, within online marketing, you can get started anywhere with data-driven marketing. Whether you bet on SEO/search engine optimization, search engine advertising or use only content marketing. Data is most often used here for:
- Email Marketing
- Search engine marketing & remarketing
- Social media marketing
- Conversion optimization (CRO)
- Display campaigns
We can add additional data segments to your Google, Facebook and Display campaigns. This additional layer of data allows you to identify your target audience in a much more targeted way. This goes much deeper than the standard audience segments of e.g. Facebook. Consider additional data around income, education level & luxury lifestyle.
Through our in-house technology, we have the ability to do a CRM upload of your paying customers. Based on that data, our system can find look-a-likes of your target audience on Instagram, Facebook, Nu.nl etc. Additional advantage: we can exclude existing customers from the campaigns. As a result, you get more return on your budget.
We work publisher independently. That means we will never push you on a domain (such as the Telegraph, MarieClaire or nu.nl) if your target audience is not there. We have no mandatory purchasing agreements. So we don’t have to meet any tiers or tiers and can therefore buy independently. So we focus our campaigns purely on the best performing networks and sharpest buying deals.
We work with a long-built whitelist in which we target only premium domains. This gives you control over which domains your ads are served.
Why your company should deploy data-driven marketing?
Data is measurement and measuring is knowing. To shape data-driven marketing, you need to know where your customers are.
It is important that your brand is present at the search moments. To do this, for example, you can map the customer journey. Based on this valuable information, you as an online marketer and entrepreneur can make much better choices for
- Targeting
- Target group choice
- Channels
- Shopping
- The growth of your business and what direction you are taking.
A glimpse into the future
In the coming years, some believe we will continue to see artificial intelligence become the most transformative technology humanity has ever known.
Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) calls the development of artificial intelligence (AI) as a species even greater than that of fire or electricity. An ambitious statement. But given that AI is already being used to help tackle climate change, explore space and actually touches all industries, the underpinning for that statement is certainly there.
The actual impact of a situation where machines increasingly make decisions is still difficult to visualize. Decision making can potentially be much faster and more accurate than if it were done by humans. At the same time, many critical questions are logically raised about this development, not all of which we can yet answer.
