By authority, we mean the reliability of your website. Of course you yourself know that your own website is reliable, and that it should be easily findable on Google, but Google certainly needs to know this too! Therefore, a score is given to each website to determine how reliable it is on the Internet: the Domain Rating.

The Domain Rating is a reliability score from 0 to 100 that can be influenced by Backlinks and Referring Domains, as well as by setting up your website properly technically (more on this later).

This score affects the final position you will get for relevant keywords. The higher the score, the better you will rank for keywords that are frequently mentioned on your website. A good option for improving Google findability at the Authority level is by “link building.

To build on the above, it is important to post enough relevant content on your website.

This is often done using SEO texts (texts with a focus on improving the positions of certain keywords). These SEO texts name the most important keywords several times so Google knows what kind of info the page provides. As time passes, this page will then be included in the search results for the keywords written about.

Finally, it is important that your website is well optimized and healthy on the back end. To name a few:

  • All Headings are correct and contain relevant keywords
  • The sitemap is carefully laid out
  • Website pagespeed is fast enough
  • Alt texts have been added to images
  • Meta descriptions have been added to pages

These factors play a crucial role in the final rankings of your website. By creating a complete SEO plan and addressing these 3 categories, you will soon see an improvement in your SEO performance.

Advertising on Google

A quick method to get more website visitors in the short term is also definitely possible. This can be done using Search Engine Advertising (SEA). This is a costly method of advertising on the keywords of your choice. However, this is certainly effective because your ad will appear at the top of the page (i.e., above all SEO pages as well). So by doing so, you make your website instantly more findable on Google.

The possible downside of this is that there are costs involved. Google Ads is a kind of marketplace where people pay per click. In turn, the cost of 1 click depends on how much supply and demand there is at the moment.
